Weekend Events in Los Angeles

I have two events in Los Angeles this weekend.

Saturday January 19, 2013 from 10 AM until Noon I’ll host the weekly zazen at Hill Street Center, 237 Hill Street, Santa Monica, CA 90405. Come 10 minutes early if you need instructions.

On Sunday January 20, 2013 at 11  AM I will lead meditation at Against The Stream 4300 Melrose Avenue  Los  Angeles, CA 90029.

Tomorrow (Sat. Jan. 19) we will perform a brief and simple memorial service for Tyler Goodin, the guy I wrote about in my previous blog posting. It will be easy to follow along and not at all spooky or weird. It would be lovely if you joined us.

What’s the deal with the Checkerboard Zafu that’s for sale? Is this because of a lost bet or an errant delivery from China?

    Against the stream.

“To reiterate, when meditation is done with our mind streaming against the flow of phenomena to the subject, Buddha Mind is revealed for the first time.”

I’ve been struck by Brad’s candor and honesty about his being a human being, with every human possible predicament.

I propose that anybody who is in touch with any kind of juvenile organization, being school or other, to suggest them a lecture by Brad.

I think he could relate very well with teens and his simplicity will be accepted by the youngsters.

    Brad’s byline on Suicide Girls:

“Brad_Warner is some kind of Buddhist teacher or some such nonsense”

For auld lang syne, my jo,
    for auld lang syne,
    we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
    for auld lang syne.

Sorry I couldn’t make the film.
